Greek - Style Grilled Octopus




 

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg octopus (cleaned and pre-cooked)

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. If the octopus is not yet cooked, simmer it in a pot of water for 40–60 minutes until tender. Then let it cool and drain well.

  2. Cut the octopus into large chunks or separate the tentacles for grilling.

  3. In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, chopped garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to make a marinade.

  4. Toss the octopus in the marinade and let it sit for at least 15–30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the octopus pieces for about 2–3 minutes per side, or until slightly charred and crispy on the edges.

  6. Remove from the grill and drizzle with additional lemon juice and olive oil if desired.

  7. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.
