Ingredients 👇🏻

For the Beef and Peppers:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or thinly sliced beef)

  • 1 red bell pepper, diced

  • 1 green bell pepper, diced

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional for extra umami)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp brown sugar

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

For the Rice:

  • 2 cups cooked white rice (preferably short-grain or jasmine)

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional for extra flavor)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)

Garnishes (optional):

  • Sliced green onions

  • Sesame seeds

  • Sriracha or hot sauce (for extra heat)


Instructions:

  1. Cook the Rice:

    • If you haven't already, cook your rice according to package instructions. Once cooked, set it aside, and for extra flavor, you can toss the rice with 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tsp sesame oil.

  2. Prepare the Beef and Peppers:

    • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes, until it becomes translucent.

    • Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. Cook the Beef:

    • Add the ground beef (or thinly sliced beef) to the skillet. Cook, breaking up the beef into small pieces with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through. If using sliced beef, cook until the beef is just tender.

  4. Add the Vegetables:

    • Add the diced red and green bell peppers to the skillet. Stir everything together and cook for 2-3 minutes until the peppers soften but still retain some crunch.

  5. Season the Beef and Peppers:

    • Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, brown sugar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to let the flavors combine. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

  6. Assemble the Rice Bowl:

    • Spoon the cooked rice into bowls. Top with the beef and pepper mixture.

  7. Garnish and Serve:
