🦐 Creamy Garlic Shrimp with Rice

🧂 Ingredients (Serves 2–3):

  • 300g (about 10 oz) fresh shrimp (peeled and deveined)

  • 3–4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

  • 200ml heavy cream (or whipping cream)

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon paprika (or chili powder)

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • Chopped parsley or cilantro, for garnish

  • Steamed white rice, for serving


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Prep the Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp and pat dry. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Let sit for 10 minutes.

  2. Sear the Shrimp: In a skillet over medium heat, melt half the butter. Add the shrimp and cook for about 1–2 minutes on each side until just cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

    • In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds).

    • Pour in the heavy cream and stir gently.

    • Add paprika, Dijon mustard (if using), lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

    • Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.

  4. Combine: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Toss gently to coat the shrimp in the creamy sauce. Simmer for another 1–2 minutes.

  5. Serve: Plate the shrimp and sauce with a serving of steamed rice. Garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro.
