Best enjoyed during a casual gathering, as an after-dinner dessert, or with your favorite cup of tea or coffee.

Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened dark cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup fresh blackberries

1/2 cup heavy cream (for frosting)

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup blackberry puree (from fresh blackberries)

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin pan with cupcake liners.

Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.

Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk: Gradually add the dry ingredients in three parts, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Fold in blackberries: Gently fold in the blackberries, being careful not to crush them too much.

Bake: Spoon the batter evenly into the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare frosting: In a bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and blackberry puree, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.

Frost the cupcakes: Once the cupcakes have cooled, frost each with the blackberry whipped cream frosting.

How to Save Electricity:
If you want to save on electricity, consider baking multiple batches of cupcakes at once or using an energy-efficient convection oven that cooks faster and distributes heat more evenly. Alternatively, using an air fryer or toaster oven can save energy when baking smaller batches.

Important Notes:

Beneficial for: This cupcake can be a great treat for people looking for an indulgent dessert with antioxidants from blackberries and dark cocoa. Dark cocoa is also rich in flavonoids, which may help improve heart health.

Potential drawbacks for: Those who are sensitive to sugar or have a dairy intolerance should be cautious about consuming these cupcakes. Additionally, those watching their calorie intake might want to enjoy these in moderation.
